WHAT WILL WE DO ON THE TRIP?
You will be spending the majority of the time working and playing with the children of The Miskaye Children's Welfare Association Children's Home and Read and Feed Learning Center. You may be doing craft projects with the children, helping them with their English, dancing with them, singing with them. You may spend time painting or gardening or helping with desperately needed repairs. Rocking babies and playing games will also be on the docket.
We will enjoy a trip outside the city to a lodge in the Ethioipian countryside for a day of play and relaxation. There will also be time for site seeing and shopping.
Your acitivities will be varied, but one thing is certain. You will never forget your time in Ethiopia.
IS THERE AN APPLICATION FEE?
Once your application is approved, $150 per person is required to hold your spot on the team. This application fee is applied toward your trip costs.

WHAT FEES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN MY TRIP FEES?
Anything not listed in the trip fee inclusion list. The most important is airfare. Airfare must be arranged by the participant. Flights should be booked so that you arrive in Addis Ababa on Sunday. We will collect flight arrival information and have transportation to the guest house arranged for you. Except for two evenings, dinners will not be provided. However, dinner is available at the guesthouse.
WHAT ABOUT TRAVEL INSURANCE?
Travel insurance will be provided as part of your trip fee. It is important to note that, in the event of a cancellation or an interruption to the trip for any reason, Ethio-American Services is not responsible for any costs or refunding of fees beyond what is provided by the insurance. Provided travel insurance will not cover your airfare. Participants are responsible for insurance covering airfare.
WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?
All team members will be required to sign the EAFS Cancellation Policy. That policy states that in the event a traveler opts to cancel their participation on the trip any costs incurred which are not covered by paid fees remain the responsibility of the traveler. Important to note is that, in accordance with 501c(3) Internal Revenue Service tax laws, donations cannot be refunded to the donor. All trip fees are considered to be tax deductible donations and are, thus, non refundable. Fees paid upon cancellation will be assumed by EAFS and used for our orphan care projects.
WHAT TYPE OF DOCUMENTS WILL I NEED?
You will need a passport that is valid fo rat least six months from the time of the trip. Visas can be secured when you arrive in Ethiopia. You will also be required to sign a Liability Release Form, our Cancellation Policy Form and a consent to submit to a background check. All of these will be available to you after you apply and are accepted to the team.
HOW CAN I MAKE A TRIP PAYMENT?
Payments can be made in two ways: 1) via the website or 2) via snail mail. Payments made online can be doen thourgh our general DONATION link. Just indicate that it is a trip payment in the comments. You can also mail your check or money order indicating it is a trip payment. All donations to Ethio-American Services are tax deductible.
